7 Subject Lines for Higher Open Rates
Keep subject lines short and casual.
Think - how would someone in the company write a subject line? People are smart and if they can tell you're just trying to sell them something, they will not open the email.
We have had lots of success with the following subject lines.
Subject Lines
- Quick question
- [FIRST NAME] <> [YOUR NAME]
- Thoughts?
- Thoughts on [Subject]?
- Quick idea
- [PAIN POINT]
- [SUBJECT]
Capitalization vs Lower Case
There's a lot of debate on whether lower case subject lines get more opens than capitalized ones. We prefer lower case and generally advise it since it looks more casual.
Ex. quick question, quick q.
Note
[PAIN POINT] and [SUBJECT] work extremely well when done correctly. There was a shortage of welders in an industry and a founder knew this. They set the subject line of their email to "welders" and their open rates sky rocketed because this was a huge issue the industry was trying to solve.
